Ithiel Batumike

Senior Researcher, Policy Pillar

Ithiel Batumike conducts research on political and electoral issues in Ebuteli. He also monitors the implementation of executive commitments relating to the security sector, electoral governance, justice reform and the fight against corruption on Talatala. Ithiel has eight years' experience in research and analysis of governance issues in the Congo.

Before joining Ebuteli, Ithiel worked as a member of the cabinet of the Independent National Electoral Commission (Ceni). Ithiel is also Head of Works at Kaziba University and Associate Researcher at the Faculty of Law of the Catholic University of Bukavu.

He holds a diploma in public law from the Catholic University of Bukavu and a master's degree in international and comparative environmental law from the University of Limoges in France. Ithiel is currently preparing his doctoral thesis at the University of Mons (School of Human and Social Sciences) in Belgium. He is the (co)author of several contributions and chapters on elections, including “Réformes électorales et consolidation de la démocratie en RDC” and “Le report des élections en République démocratique du Congo” published by l'Harmattan.
